To cool down from my long SUP racing season this y ear I decided to do two running races to get off the water for some time.

My choice fell on the Hallwilerseelauf (a half marathon) and the SwissCityMarathon in Lucerne (full marathon). With two weeks between the two events the race in Hallwil would provide an ideal buildup for the marathon in Lucerne.

After I overpaced in the last years marathon I decided to start slowly and only push myself in the second half. So far the plan. The first lap was great, in the second lap my pulse went up and I did not really manage to get it back under 175/180 bpm. After 30k I experienced strong stiches and had two go really slow, which cost me a lot of time.

In the end I nevertheless finished in 3:49,21, 10 minutes faster than last year. Now I am going to have two rest weeks, and then my SUP training will start again.
