This year we decided it was finally time for Angela to learn how to ski. However, as we like to experience new things we decided to go to Georgia instead of skiing in Switzerland. We booked a package in Gudauri, a ski-resort situated in the Caucasus mountains close to the border with Russia. The resort is situated at an altitude of almost 2000m which makes it a safe bet for good snow conditions until the late season. The higher parts of the resort even stretch to above 3000m, which gives even more reassurance.

As you can see from the pictures, Angela was quick in taking up the basic skills, and we were soon exploring all the easier slopes in the resort. We were super lucky with the weather enjoying a combination of beautiful spring weather paired with perfect snow conditions.

After a few days of skiing we added a day to explore the capital of Tbilisi before flying back to Dubai. There are a lot of good options for accommodations from Airbnbs to small hotels. The city offers a unique vibe between mediterranean, sovjet and middle-eastern and is definitely worth a visit.
