With the last two races of the SUP Tour Schweiz and another two partner events my SUP season 2016 came to an end.

Lucerne

With 7.5km the race in Lucerne is the shortest longdistance race of the SUP Tour. The event is organised together with the lake crossing of the swimmers, so we start at one side of the lake and finish on the other.

The race was close between Peter Tritten and me, but in the end I managed to win by a few boardlengths. After the first partner event in Thun, this was the second time I was leading the overall results of the season.

Thun

I clearly went into the race in Thun with the intention to win the race and therefore win the overall results, but it turned out to really not be my day.

Due to falling two times I ended up in third place behind Peter Tritten and Nico Schenk, losing even the possibilty to catch up in the overall results by winning the last two partner events. I guess on our level you are just not supposed to fall of the board.

Eglisau

Without the pressure of the overall results I started at the 26km downstream race in Eglisau, just for fun. Second again.

Montreux

The day after Eglisau Andi Saurer and I went to Montreux for the Alpine Lakes Tour Race at the Montreux SUP Club. One of the most relaxed and fun events ever. I came by train and Susanne let me do the race on one of her NSP Boards.

The race was fun, and despite the 26km of Eglisau in my body I was able to win the Race before Leandro Cruz and Andi Saurer. Guess the NSP works pretty good even without training.

Buochs

For my twentiest and last race of the season I was able to test yet another board, the new Fanatic Strike. Unluckily my race did not work out as I planned and I had to let Tritten go for another second place.

Conclusion

I had a great Season, the results proved that my training paid off, however there is still a lot to do to catch up to the European guys. Attached below are again (almost) all my results of the season.

Now during the month of October I will focus on running and I will participate in the Lucerne Marathon. After that I will have some (one or two) weeks without any sport before I will go back to winter training.
