After my turbulent start, the situation stabilised towards the weekend and I felt like I could start to really live here. With the weekend came the well earned time off, perfect to explore the closer region of Muscat. I did two small excursions: On Friday I did a small hike from a place called Yenkitt to a viewpoint on the cliffs at the coast. The water there was pristine and even at the random place I jumped into the water there were tons of fish to see.
On Saturday I went to take my SUP for a spin at Bandar Khairan: A bay with a large number of small islands and hidden beaches. While it is also known for snorkeling, it is getting pretty full around noon when all the tourist boats arrive and the visibility under water is not as perfect as it is close to Yenkitt..
The sunset pictures above are from one of Muscats main beaches: Qurum Beach. My guess is, that the tree on the sand is some leftover from the Cyclone earlier this week.
