A while ago Anna and & I got into contact with the creators of Zug.Run as they were looking for runners willing to participate in the project. We first participated as runners/models in a photoshoot for their marketing images and we totally fell in love with the project. Their goal is to publish a collection of 20 (for the start) trails in the Zug region for people to discover. There will be trails of all difficulty levels, from rather entry level ones, to steep and technical ones.

As things evolved we also took part in a second photoshoot for the ZugSports magazine and into doing some of the trail photography and descriptions. Doing these trails was an amazing opportunity to run new trails in our region that were nevertheless unknown to us.
On the second photoshoot we had amazing goldenhour light combined with clouds rolling in, making for a perfect dramatical mood. Even though it was freezing we stayed on the peak for a bit after the shoot to get some of our own shots, before the sun ultimately set and the light vanished.

Photography wise during these shoots and the trailscouting my new backpack – the Lowepro Photosport 300 AW – proved to be an absolute workhorse. In a small backpack it is possible to carry a fullframe body with a 24-70mm lens attached & a 70-200mm lens or a small drone, while still having the full top compartment for clothes, food and other essentials needed for a day in the mountains.

The Zug.Run website will launch on June 21st, meanwhile make sure to follow them on Instagram.
