After my long 2016 season, the marathon month and some days off, I have started the training cycle for my 2017 season. The biggest change for the next season will sure be the new Starboard boards. The other sponsors will stay all the same: Hippostick paddles, Dador Drysuits and the SUP Piraten Shop.
With the SUP Piraten Shop I am in the process of creating a more organized racing team in order to create a strong appearance at national and even international races. The presentation of the new team will take place at the Santa Paddling this Saturday!
In general the focus of my 2017 season will be on quality and not so much quantity. This year I started in 20 races, which proved to be a little to much. For 2017 I plan on participating in lesser, but more interesting events. Namely my home race in Zurich, the Swiss Championship, the other SUP Tour Schweiz races, and some Euro Tour and international races. I will post an update as soon the confirmed dates are out.
Because the weather here now mostly looks like this, and to prepare for the international races I will have to start training on the ocean as early in the season as possible. Therefore I will spend January in Fuerteventura and the Easter Holidays in Spain for an optimal preparation.
I would love to see some of you at our Santa Paddle on Saturday December 10th, the Paddle for JRZ in Lucerne on December 18th, Fuerteventura and the next year’s races!
